ExhibitionThe Environmental Photography Award 2025, hosted by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, is an international competition aimed at spotlighting the profound relationship between humans and the natural environment. Launched to inspire conservation efforts, the award encourages photographers worldwide to capture stunning images that reveal both the planet’s beauty and the pressing challenges it faces. Entrants can submit their work across five key categories: Polar Wonders, Ocean Worlds, Into the Forest, Humanity versus Nature, and Change Makers: Reasons for Hope. These categories reflect the award’s mission to engage viewers with the critical environmental issues of today, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and human impact on ecosystems.
This competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers, ensuring wide accessibility and participation. Since its inception, the Environmental Photography Award has gained prominence for its role in raising awareness about environmental protection, drawing thousands of submissions each year. For the 2025 edition, the award will continue to honor photographs that combine artistic excellence with a powerful environmental message. Submissions are free, and photographers can upload their entries until November 3, 2024. The competition not only seeks to reward talent but also to foster a deeper connection between photography and conservation, making it a meaningful platform for eco-conscious photographers.
Winning photographers stand to receive significant recognition. The Environmental Photographer of the Year will be awarded a €5,000 prize and invited to Monaco for the opening of the award’s exhibition. Category winners will receive €1,000 each, while the Public and Students’ Choice winners will be awarded €500. Selected photographs will be featured in exhibitions held in Monaco and internationally, reinforcing the award’s global reach. Additionally, the Public Award winner will receive a unique opportunity to visit SEK International University’s research station in the Amazon, further highlighting the award’s focus on environmental advocacy.
