The association "Camille Lepage – On est ensemble" (Camille Lepage – We are together) was created on September 20, 2014, a few months after the death of photojournalist Camille Lepage in the Central African Republic while she was working on a report.

The association was set up by her family (her parents Maryvonne & Guy Lepage and brother Adrien) to commemorate Camille, her work and commitment, to provide assistance and protection for photojournalists working in conflict areas, to support communities that are victims of such conflicts, and, while doing so, to promote values that were so important to Camille.

CDP Éditions – Collection des photographes kindly published a book of Camille Lepage's latest work in the Central African Republic, République centrafricaine : On est ensemble. All proceeds from the sale of this book were donated by CDP Éditions to the association "Camille Lepage – On est ensemble."

For the tenth year running, the Société des Auteurs des Arts Visuels et de l’Image Fixe (SAIF) is funding the €8,000 prize to encourage the work of a photojournalist committed to long-term projects.

The Award will be presented for the twelfth time in Perpignan at the International Festival of Photojournalism Visa pour l’Image-Perpignan 2026. The award is designed to help a photographer carry out and complete a reporting project which is already under way. Applicants must be professional photojournalists. There is no age limit or restriction on nationality or gender.

The Award will be officially presented at an evening show at the International Festival of Photojournalism Visa pour l’Image-Perpignan in September 2026. The Award-winning report must be completed within one year so that it can be presented, either as an exhibition or feature in an evening show, at the 2027 International Festival of Photojournalism Visa pour l’Image-Perpignan.

This year, for the 38th edition of the festival, the work of Matilde Gattoni (2025 winner) on the devastating consequences of climate change and overfishing on Lake Victoria in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will be presented.
