Lions Club Seregno AidThe Lions Club Seregno AID – ETS organizes the tenth edition of the World Water Day Photo Contest, #WWDPHC.
The 2026 campaign’s theme is “Water’s Role in Gender Equality”, aiming to highlight how water is not just a natural resource, but a powerful lens through which gender inequalities can be observed.
The contest is open to all photography enthusiasts and supporters of environmental issues.
The prize fund totals more than €5,000, of which €1,500 are reserved for the Main category first place winner.
The competition categories are:
• Single photos themed “Water’s Role in Gender Equality” (Main category)
• Single photos themed “Water Landscape”
• Storytelling: A section themed “Lives by water”, offering the opportunity to submit photo series, thematic projects, visual storytelling, photo reportage, and storyboards with water as the common element.
All photographs featuring water as the main subject are accepted, taken with any type of device: camera, smartphone, tablet, drone, or action camera.
Adjustments to brightness, contrast, and color balance are acceptable.
Retouching of dust spots and minor elements is permitted.
Images may be sharpened before printing.
Post-processing techniques that could realistically be achieved in a darkroom are accepted; however, jurors reserve the right to reject any entry they consider overly manipulated and compromising the integrity of the original image.
The World Water Day Photo Contest does not accept AI-generated images.
The contest is organized in conjunction with UN Water’s World Water Day to raise awareness of the critical importance of water today, particularly regarding access to safe drinking water.
Lions Club Seregno AID (Assistance to International Development) is based in Seregno, in the green and industrious Italian region of Brianza.
Founded in 2016, it is an affiliate of Lions Club International, the world’s largest charitable organization, and is registered with the Italian Single National Register of the Third Sector.
