ENRSEuropean Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) invites all high school students (15-19 years old) to challenge the idea of a border and to explore their immediate environment by taking part in a photography competition: Borders calling!
The competition is open until 31st January 2026.
Students can enter via the registration form available on the competition website.
Take a picture of a (hi)story behind borders!
Show borders – administrative, social, political, aesthetical ones – to your students and encourage them to take part in a photography competition!
Borders calling is an opportunity for your students to combine creativity and critical thinking with visual storytelling, and an opportunity to win cash prizes!
To prepare your students for the competition, we encourage you to present this theme to your class with free, ready-to-use educational resources designed to help you:
Introduce – and challenge! – the definitions of a border, a landscape, and a borderlandscape;
Find the stories that borders tell us through oral history and photography.
How to get started:
Explore the free teaching resources made by educators for educators;
Discuss the themes in your classroom;
Encourage your students to continue discovering borders and submit their photos by the end of January!
Prizes:
1st place: €300
2nd place: €200
3rd place: €100
