Photography 4 HumanityThe 2024 Global Contest promotes climate justice. We believe climate change is a human rights issue, so we are looking for images that show people impacted by the escalating climate crisis. They include climate refuges, the very young, the very old, the disabled and injured, the poor, indigenous and island people, and women. Images of climate champions advocating for change, and those helping to mitigate and reverse climate change are welcome.
Photography 4 Humanity is an international initiative created with global partner United Nations Human Rights, that calls on photographers around the world to bring to life the fight for climate justice. Highlighting the most compelling imagery — illustrating courage, despair, hope, injustice, compassion, human rights failures or victories in ways small and large — the images serve to inspire people to personally get involved and to take a stand for human rights.
Photography 4 Humanity is the photography platform for the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance. Since the Global Climate Alliance was lunched at COP26 in Glasgow by United Nations Human Rights, and supporters that included Leonardo DiCaprio and Quincy Jones, it has emerged as the largest climate justice movement in the world.
At the core of the initiative, is a global call to action for amateur and professional photographers alike to submit images for an annual competition promoting climate justice, where the winning entry will receive the Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize and $5,000 USD.
The 2024 Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize Recipient, Top 10 Finalists and 20 Honorable Mentions will have their work exhibited globally by the United Nations on December 10, 2024 - UN Human Rights Day, and globally via UN.org.
