Picto FoundationSince 1998, the Bourse du Talent has been recognizing emerging photographers. After 25 editions, the program has evolved to remain closely aligned with the visions of contemporary photographers. Today, the Bourse du Talent focuses on new forms of documentary storytelling used by photographers to explore and reflect our world.
Each year, three Bourse du Talent awards are given to photographers whose projects embrace innovative documentary strategies—whether through an approach that flirts with fine art, science, literature, or other cross-disciplinary practices in service of narrative, or through the use of new technologies to enhance storytelling. The Bourse du Talent is open to photographers of all nationalities, welcomes all subjects and forms of expression, and encourages environmentally conscious and socially engaged approaches.
With the support of its partners, the Bourse du Talent continues to serve as a springboard to help photographers professionalize and navigate the photography market. PixTrakk, Saif, and now MPB play a key role in supporting this mission.
The Bibliothèque nationale de France will present the work of the Bourse du Talent winners alongside other prestigious photography awards as part of the exhibition La Photographie à tout Prix in December.
In 2025, MPB—the world’s largest platform for buying, selling, and trading used photo and video equipment—becomes the main partner of the Bourse du Talent. To mark the occasion, and as part of PICTO’s 75th anniversary, MPB and Picto Foundation are teaming up to offer a special photographic commission to three past Bourse du Talent winners: How can we represent today’s historic photo lab? Grégoire Eloy, Chloé Jafé, and Kamila K Stanley have been invited to present their work during the opening week of the Rencontres d’Arles festival.
