A couple of years ago we put out a call for entry entitled "She." The two intervening years have been both maddening and empowering for women. Is it possible to celebrate, examine, interpret, release, exhort, explain, animate, illustrate or annotate the current way of women through image making? Let us see.
Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme “she” to A Smith Gallery by November 25, 2024. Entries of 13 or more images are eligible for a complementary review by the gallery directors. The entry fee is $40 for the first 5 images and $5 for each additional image. Forty seven images will be selected for exhibition and shown in the online gallery from December 20, 2024 to January 30, 2025. An exhibition catalogue with all the accepted images will be available for purchase. 27 images from the total 47 images will be selected for “The 27”, a limited edition hardbound fine art book of the exhibition.
Juror for “she” will be Polly Gaillard, fine art photographer, educator and program director of Photolucida.
