GetxophotoThe 8th edition of Getxophoto’s Open Call offers visual artists and photographers from all over the world the opportunity to exhibit their work at the 19th edition of the Festival and whose theme will be REC. The Festival encourages creators to participate in this call for proposals that address photography, video, installation, performance, actions, digital art or any other means of visual expression.
The jury, made up of María Ptqk (curator of Getxophoto Festival, Bilbao), María Wills (independent curator and researcher, Bogotá), Carla Bacelar (producer of Encontros da Imagem, Braga) and Verónica Fieiras (editor and founder of Chaco editorial, Buenos Aires), will select 3 projects that will be part of the programme and will be exhibited at the next edition of the Festival.
Last year, this call was very well received internationally, received 400 projects from artists from 48 different countries. The deadline for applications is 31 October 2024 through the Picter platform.
What winners receive
The winning artists will benefit from:
An exhibition at Getxophoto Festival together with renowned contemporary visual artists
500€ fee as participant of Getxophoto Festival
Accomodation for 2 nights during the Opening Week plus a travel support (up to 150€)
National and international press exposure
Inclusion in the Festival’s programme and publication
The possibility to connect with other professionals during the Opening week
