Cash PrizeKLPA is excited to announce the Interim Edition Open Call this year examining and highlighting the power and artistic expressions inherent in self-portraiture. Photographers have turned their cameras on themselves ever since Robert Cornelius captured a daguerreotype self-portrait in 1839 at the dawn of photography. Seeing themselves via their chosen medium with roles as the photographer and sitter, may reveal, enrich and aspire to self-discovery as artists.
This Interim Edition prize is open for entries from 1 September to 6 October and the winners and finalists will be selected by a panel of international judges in mid-October 2024. The Top 30 finalists will have their portraits screened at selected venues by our partner festivals in 2024 and 2025, reaching a wide international audience and also being promoted online to our followers. A print exhibition is planned for 2025 at Hin Bus Depot in George Town, Penang, Malaysia.
